Wouldn't it be nice...

Blythe put this up on her blog, but then Frank gave all of his answers on her comments. I was impressed by this, so I felt compelled to keep the chain going. Also, I just really like these questions - they are straight to the point. So here are my answers:

1. What did you do 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I was in the summer of my freshman year, going into sophomore year. I was less than a month away from my 15th birthday which meant I was closer to being able to drive. I was living at 21031 Mountain Glenn Circle in Lake Forest, where I am sure I had to watch my little sisters every day - Sarah was 7, and Emily and Tori were 5. I was also busy hanging out with my friends - Amy, Ronnie, and Casey (whatever happened to those guys...)

2. Five items on your to-do list:

-write a book that is published by a good publishing company
-get my masters degree
-travel everywhere (especially Israel and Europe)
-become a better swimmer
-get a new digital camera

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

The first thing I would do is pay off all my school loans. Then I would walk into my church and write a big, fat check and prepare it for deposit. Then I would call Taylor Russell and have her come do my job while I go on "vacation". Then I would buy my parents a house, and give them enough money so they don't have to work anymore. Then I would give Talbot all the money they need for their new building. Then I would call John, and give him all of my money so that he could do whatever he does to make sure I don't spend it all in one day. Then I would call up my old roommate Lindsay and inform her that she doesn't have to work this year, as she is going to travel the world with me. Then I would go home and pack one bag, drive to La Mirada, pick Lindsay up, and head over to the airport. I would go everywhere. Randomly paying for various friends to join me in their favorite places. I would come back after a year or so, and go back to school and volunteer all my time. It would be glorious.

5. Places I would live:

Colorado (and I love Fort Collins...)
New York City (Manhattan)
Chicago
France (because you can't beat the perks...)
But seriously, I would go anywhere the Lord was calling me...and anywhere that I can WALK to my next destination

6. Jobs I have had:

Bagels n' Brew
Saddleback Hospital
Mission Hospital
Calvary Laguna
Biola Fitness Center
Kingsfield Church  ;)

okay, but i'm going to repost it on mine too. :] and gosh, i haven't done one of these in a few years.

1. What did you do 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I was 11 and going into seventh grade. Hm. Oh, I think I was on the Covina swim team that year so I spent a lot of time at swim practice and getting the darkest suntan of my life. I believe I also hung out with my almost-cousins Margarita and David who lived with us that summer. And I probably spent the night at Kimmie Lenggiere's for her birthday sleepover party.

2. Five items on your to-do list:

-live in, not just visit, different parts of the country and/or world.
-get married to Kevin
-rebuild my entire wardrobe after this summer (I'm doing it! watch me!).
-be a missionary, or if not, go on short-term trips, or if not, significantly support missionaries financially.
-oh, get a Ph.D. i guess.

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

Like Carrie, the first thing I would do is pay off all my school loans. Then I'd pay for my church's new building. Then I'd give $100 million to Biola University, and a large endowment to Wycliffe Bible Translators, and support a few missionaries. Then I'd help Kevin pay for school and my parents pay for my sisters' college tuitions. Oh, and then I would invest some in mutual funds or something so it wouldn't all just disappear. Then I would travel wherever I wanted, whenever I could, and bring my family and friends with me whenever they could.

5. Places I would live:

San Diego (I just love it there)
New York City (Manhattan or the boroughs)
Chicago (good thing, huh?)
Japan (especially if I had a billion dollars... that place is expensive)
England or Scotland

6. Jobs I have had:

Northern Lights Cafe at UCLA
'Mexican Food'
Biola (like 5 departments)
Gateway Academy
Comet Employment Agency/AHS
Getting my Ph.D.

Sweet! This is gonna be fun!

1. What did you do 10 years ago?

10 years ago I was 15 (almost 16!). I was 4 years old in Christ and I was really into youth group and church activities because I was never involved as a kid. I sang at youth group in the band and held a weekly Bible study at my house. I was a cheerleader (don't laugh), so I was busy with that as well as with schoolwork. Oh, and I was totally bratty to my parents at that age...I wish I could go back in time and undo it!!

2. Five items on your to-do list:

-write my new believer's class curriculum
-write my resume (maybe you can help me Carrie...)
-get a job!!!!!!!!!!!!
-write a book (I am thinking about an adult Bible study book based on C. S. Lewis' The Great Divorce...)
-hang out with my friend Carrie (It's been too long!)

3. Uh...there is no #3........?

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

-pay off my school loans!
-get my MDiv
-buy a house
-have a baby!
-give money to Biola
-give money to missionaries
-travel!!!!! I've never been anywhere!!!!
-but a vacation house in Maui (or just move there...)
-get my parents and sister out of debt
-go shopping!
-have a jamba juice every day! ha ha!

5. Places I would live:

-Maui
-San Diego
-Somewhere pretty in Northern CA
-OK, I've never been anywhere, so I'd have to travel all over and then decide!

6. Jobs I have had:

-Red Eye...a little cheap horrible clothing store in the Carousel Mall that doesn't exist anymore
-Mimi's Cafe in San Bernardino
-Canyon Cottage Semi-Famous Restaurant in Reche Canyon
-Paper Partners...a little gift shop that does custom invitations and stuff like that
-Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in San Bernardino
-The Highway Church in San Bernardino ...doesn't exist anymore

Wow, I'd better get to that to-do list... ;)

I was in 3rd grade.. 4th grade? Wow. Well apparently from what i've heard in meeting up with some old faces I use to be friends with, in those days I was a gremlin and stole peoples snacks, things like oreos and such. Other than that I was probably queen of the handball court or kicking major but in tether ball.

2. Five items on your to-do list:

-Master the Japanese language, then move there for at least a year teaching English or something of that sort. Possibly missionary work there.
-Stop biting my nails.
-Make out with ____. Kidding.
-Become the next 'Cobrasnake', if anyone knows who that is.
-Branch away from Smoothie King..

4. What would you do if you were a billionaire?

Probably pass out from excitement once I saw the numbers on my bank account exploding. After recovering, I would buy myself a Honda Fit take it on a road trip, stay in Japan forever, buy like five of the cameras I want and take like a billion pictures all along the way. Once I got back I would go into business of opening up a venue/(veg)cafe/bookstore/artsy deal with my brother. Me and Tita would have our own blog/music journal about all the bands that came to my venue, where she'd do the journaling and i'll do the photos. I'd invest a good amount, let my dad handle the stocks. I'd want to adopt and/or foster like 2 kids and teach them all Japanese. Somewhere in there Hopefully i'd meet a manly man who loves God and we can elope (yes elope).. and then come back and have a wonderful ceremony. (Before the adopting)

5. Places I would live:

Honestly, any big city. Somewhere fast paced, I wouldn't mind not having to drive anywhere I actually prefer the subway/metro.

6. Jobs I have had:

Wow... Smoothie King? My three year anniversary was June 3rd. I won't count babysitting..

1. What did you do 10 years ago?

What grade are you in when you're 12? Is it sixth grade? Seventh? Well, I was going into x grade and was as indifferent about school as ever. I went to Forest Home for summer camp. If it was seventh grade that I was in then our family was about to move. That was sad.

2. Five items on your to-do list:

a. Finish grad school
b. Get married
c. Teach Bible somewhere
d. Finish packing my room before I move to Chicago (this should be #1 on the list)
e. Be able to read Greek AND Hebrew

3. What would you do if you were a billionaire? Give a bunch to Grace EV Free La Mirada and Biola (so that tuition wouldn't be as high), and other organizations that I like; pay off my loans to TEDS; save some for my future family.

4. Places I would live:

Chicago (I don't have much of a choice now)
England/Scotland/Ireland
Australia/New Zealand
Almost anywhere in So-Cal

5. Jobs I have had:

Babysitter
Office Assistant @ Biola
Biola Cafe Worker (don't get jealous)
Facilities Team @ Biola (the night crew--that job only lasted one week)
Custodian at my church
